On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, although teachers and students of the Huamei ISD department are living in different parts of the world now, it cannot stop the ISD family from wanting to reunite.为了让学生们更多地了解中华民族传统节日的文化内涵,我们举办了“花好月圆”中秋节线上主题活动。In order to let students learn more about the cultural connotation of the traditional Chinese festivals, we held an online theme event called “Blooming Flower and Full Moon” to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival.

The main celebrations include eating mooncakes, having dinner with family, watching the moon, and lighting lanterns. In addition to China, some of China’s neighbors also celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. The Mid- Autumn Festival may have been a harvest festival at the earliest. The festival was later given a mythological flavor with legends of Chang’e, a Chinese goodness of the moon. In addition to Chang’e, there are three more stories about the Mid-Autumn Festival shared by our student, Chinjung.

Food is the first necessity of the people. Chinese people also like different kinds of food, especially during festivals. what kinds of food will we eat for the Mid-Autumn Festival in China? Jomkwan(JK) has made some posters to share some food that Chinese people love eating during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
手工比拼Mid-Autumn Festival Handicraft Competition
初中部的同学们也不甘示弱,发挥想象力与创造力,进行了“中秋手工大比拼”。The Junior students of ISD department participated in the “Mid-Autumn Festival Handicraft Competition” with imagination and creativity.提起中秋,当然要吃月饼啦~ Mike为大家展示了做月饼的过程,小编隔着屏幕都流口水了。Joshaander利用手边现有材料,制作了羽毛灯笼,锻炼了动手能力。Mitsui为老师们写了一份中秋贺卡,深切表达了他的祝福。Of course, we should eat moon cakes at the Mid-Autumn Festival! Mike then showed everyone how to make moon cakes. Joshaander used the existing materials to make a feather lantern, which enhanced his hands-on ability. Mitsui wrote a Mid-Autumn Festival greeting card for the teachers to express his best wishes.
中秋活动 – 猜灯谜 Lantern Festival Riddles
“猜灯谜”是中国独有的富有民族风格的一种传统民俗文娱活动形式,这次中秋线上活动,我们也举办了“猜灯谜”比赛。老师和同学们都兴致勃勃,你一言我一语地相互讨论灯谜内容,每个人都开怀大笑。中文老师们也讲解了关于文字灯谜的意义,让大家体会到了汉语的魅力。
“Lantern Festival Riddles” is a unique form of traditional activity that Chinese people celebrate during the Mid-Autumn Festival. This activity was also held during this online event. Everyone was having so much fun. When the students discussed the content of the riddles, Chinese teachers also help to explain the meaning behind it so that students can feel the charm of Chinese characters.
